comics don't have to be for kids,...well said.

comics don't have to be for kids, but the majority of the established superheroes (the ones from Marvel and DC, say) were designed and intended for the young and young at heart. secret identities, colorful costumes, all those things that made them fun to us.

I haven't bought a new comic since Avengers/JLA, and haven't missed them at all, sadly. I'd never thought I'd say that, but all the characters seem so loathsome now.

that and the books are $4 a piece.

DavidX7https://www.blogger.com/profile/16050119714244967980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508177002281245831.post-58569768732363689622010-09-30T12:21:45.226-07:002010-09-30T12:21:45.226-07:00You make AWESOME POINT my dear friendYou make AWESOME POINT my dear friendEarthTeaCodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15718200931929308189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6508177002281245831.post-60185370274233112192010-09-17T07:47:40.014-07:002010-09-17T07:47:40.014-07:00Good points all around. The fact that there is more to realism than blood and gore is important to realize. Invincible is a great mix of the blood and fun but sometimes the metaphor is best served with the acknowledgement that these characters are wearing brightly colored spandex and that their world may have different rules than our own.Mike Elrodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12045458838416233936noreply@blogger.com
